The submission period for the January-February 1998 round of the Internet Ray Tracing Competition is over. The images are now available for viewing, voting, and comment at WWW: http://www.irtc.org/stills/ http://www.apocalypse.org/pub/u/bill/1998-02-28/ http://www.ucf.ics.uci.edu/pub/mirrors/irtc/stills/1998-02-28/ FTP: ftp://ftp.irtc.org/pub/stills/1998-02-28/ ftp://ftp.apocalypse.org/pub/u/bill/1998-02-28/ ftp://ftp.ucf.ics.uci.edu/pub/mirrors/irtc/stills/1998-02-28/ Note the mirror sites listed above. We have a new server for this round, and we hope ftp access to ftp.irtc.org will be better than in the past. However, you are still encouraged to use a mirror site for downloading if you encounter problems with the first site you try. The extra WWW URLs listed above are only for file access; web viewing and voting still starts on www.irtc.org as always. Ftp access for older rounds is now available through oz.irtc.org. For the MS-Windows users among the voters, check out Bob Franke's new WinVote voting assistance program. Details and downloads are available at his site, "http://www.halcyon.com/wordsltd/pov/test.htm". The files it needs are in a subdirectory called "winvote" in the main ftp area. There were 73 entries accepted for voting. If you prefer to download large bundles, they are available in the directory named "zipped-up", under the name "images-*.zip" for the images, and "all-text.zip" for the text. This round's voting interval is fourteen days; votes will be accepted from March 3 through March 16. Winners will be announced March 17. The March-April round of the IRTC is now open. The topic for this round is "Night". You may begin submitting for this round immediately; entries will be accepted through 30 April 1998. -- The IRTC Admin team
