Announcing WinVote: WinVote is a Microsoft Windows 95 or Windows NT program for off-line IRTC stills voting. The program allows you to vote, read the text file, and enter your comments - all from one application. When you are finished, WinVote will compile a complete voting form suitable for emailing (irtc-vote@irtc.org) or ftping to the IRTC. WinVote generates a voting form and copies it to the Windows clipboard. All you have to do is drop it into email or ftp to send it. Once you have voted on all images (like the web interface, WinVote forces you to view the full-size image before you can vote on it), you gain access to advanced sorting functions (you can sort by category). This helps you maintain your consistency and fairness. The program has already been successfully used by five voters, with great success and is now an officially approved (by IRTC Admin Team) method for voting on IRTC stills. Here's a quote from Bill Marrs (one of the IRTC Admin Team): "Wow, WinVote is great. Off-line voting is fun and easy now. What used to take days, I can now do in a couple hours - and with more accuracy (sorting is great). With WinVote, I spend less time waiting for downloads and more time judging the images." For more information on WinVote (including download, and see a screen shot), go to this URL: http://www.halcyon.com/wordsltd/pov/winvote.htm . Future voting periods will also include links to winvote for your convenience. The IRTC Admin team would like to publicly thank Bob Franke for taking the time to create and share this useful tool. Bob welcomes comments and requests for new functions. Bob aims to please, any reasonable request will probably be added to WinVote. A Windows 3.1 version is available by email request. Please direct inquires regarding WinVote to Bob Franke, email: bobfranke@halcyon.com . -- The IRTC Admin Team
