  We have finally finished work on the IRTC CD (Year Two). This CD is the
second in the Internet Raytracing Competition (IRTC) series, and contains
all stills entries from May-June 1997 through March-April 1998, and all
animation entries from the round beginning in October 1997 through the one
ending in July 1998 (a total of three animation rounds, since each one is
three months).

  In addition, it has two specially-rendered versions of the winning 'No
Batteries Required' animation entry from July 1998. One is a 20mb 800x600
resolution MPEG, and the other is a 180mb 640x480 resolution AVI.

  The CD also includes the recently-released version 3.1a of POV-Ray for
the Windows 95/98/NT, MS-DOS, and Macintosh platforms. In total, there is
in excess of 600 megabytes of data on it.

  If you have purchased an IRTC CD in the past, you will know that it is 
a quality product, with full-color silk-screening on the CD, packaged in a
jewel case with full-color back slip and insert. This is again the case
with the Year Two CD-ROM.

  The CD is expected to be released within a few weeks. By ordering now,
you will get the very first copies of the CD to be shipped. We will not
charge your credit card until the product is ready.
