The submission period for the July-October 2000 round of the Internet Ray Tracing Animation Competition is over. The animations are now available for viewing, voting, and comment at WWW: http://www.irtc.org/anims/ http://www.apocalypse.org/pub/u/bill/2000-10-15/ FTP: ftp://ftp.irtc.org/pub/anims/2000-10-15/ Note the mirror sites listed above. The extra WWW URLs listed above are only for file access; web viewing and voting still starts on www.irtc.org as always. There were 24 entries accepted for voting. If you prefer to download large bundles, they are available in the directory named "zipped-up", under the name "animations-*.zip" for the animations, all-posters.zip for the movie posters, and "all-text.zip" for the text. This round's voting interval is 14 days; votes will be accepted from 16 October through 30 October 2000. Winners will be announced 31 October 2000. The October-January animation round of the IRTC is now open. The topic for this round is "Pursuit/Escape". You may begin submitting for this round immediately; entries will be accepted through 15 January 2000. Also note that we have removed the "no progressive JPEGs" rule for "movie posters". In future rounds, your poster images can be any legal JPEG JFIF file, although for maximum compatibilty, you should probably steer clear of the "progressive" option if you can. -- The IRTC Admin team
