Internet Ray Tracing Competition Award Medallions

This page presents the official IRTC award medallions. These medallion images are intended for use by IRTC winners as a way of marking their winning images and status as IRTC winners. An IRTC winner is someone who has won at least one of the following recognitions from the IRTC for either stills or animations or both:

• First Place
• Second Place
• Third Place
• Honorable Mention for Artistic Merit
• Honorable Mention for Technical Merit
• Honorable Mention for Concept, Originality, Interpretation of Theme

Guidelines for Use

IRTC winners may display the appropriate medallion(s) on the web or elsewhere in association with themselves or their image(s). The specific guidelines are listed below.

An IRTC award medallion may be:

• Displayed by winners of the award designated by the selected medallion.
• Displayed in association with the image(s) which won the award, or in association with the winner personally.
• Used on a web page or in any other medium at the winner's discretion.
• Used as a plain image, or as a hyperlink to:
  1. The main IRTC web site, "http://www.irtc.org/", or
  2. The results page highlighting the winning image, for example "http://www.irtc.org/stills/1998-02-28.html".

An IRTC award medallion may not be:

• Altered in any way, or incorporated into another image.
• Displayed by anyone who has not won the award designated by the selected medallion.
• Displayed in a context not related to the competition, the award-winning image, or the award-winning artist.
• Used as a hyperlink to a destination besides the IRTC site or the associated results page.

The idea for the medallion program, and the images themselves, sprang from the talented brain of multiple award-winner Glenn McCarter. Our heartiest thanks go to Glenn for his participation in the comptition--his contributions have enriched it immeasurably, and we hope they will continue to do so for a long time to come.
