===== From gregj56590@aol.com: Doesn't tell a story. Technically excellent. ===== From agage@mines.edu: Compared to your entry for Transportation, although the focus was the same, this animation is quite good. Instead of an enlongated sphere on legs, we have an actual body. The legs are articulated very nicely (especially the three- point actuators). The camera motion is a plus, and the ground texture is pleasant. ===== From Martin.Magnusson.7121@student.uu.se: Good modelling and motion, I like the flashing "eye". The ground looks pretty flat, a flat height field might have been better than a normal map. ===== From chrisj@digiquill.com: Technically good, the way all the legs are articulated. It just doesn't do anything! ===== From quinet@gamers.org: Nice. The movements are well done. Here are a few suggestions for improvements: - The robot would probably look a bit better if its texture was a bit less "flat". Maybe with some (very) small perturbations with a normal map, showing that the metal or painting is not perfect. - Maybe it would look better with one area light instead of two point lights, or at least with two lights that do not have the same intensity. It is a bit strange to have two lights of the same intensity that are placed symetrically. - Currently, the camera is centered exactly on the robot. It would be better to move the point where the camera looks at while it turns (maybe also moving the location of the camera closer to the ground for a while, and then back up). ===== From bill@apocalypse.org: A good solid animation, excellent loopiness. The legs were modelled very well. Still, an animator with this much skill could perhaps move on to something more challenging, something with a story, more camera shots, and such... ===== From arcana@sinbad.net: Really nice articulation of the joints and legs. Would have been nice to have seen the camera do more than go around in a tight circle. It's not obvious how this fits into the theme of Toys, so an explanation in the text file would have really improved your Concept score. ===== From r@159.134.245.19: Very good loop. I love the legs mechanisms and the flashing light. In my opinion, it comes second with rubika. Notable for composition ===== From r@tweedledee.its.utas.edu.au: This is really cool, it does look like something I made though... ===== From r@dial-up40.webbernet.net: Very nicely modelled, i really like the articulation and plausible look of the leg mechanisms. The ground is nice too. While the changing camera angles and path add interest, the bugbot is just walking. Nothing storylike is happening. Also, this is similar to though much better than an entry from a previous round. Finally, this says "research" rather than "toy" to me. This comment by clem@dhol.com. ===== From r@cache5.cache.iol.ie: nicely done...I liked the way you made the movement seem natural
