===== From gregj56590@aol.com: All visual details are perfect, notably grass in stadium. I did not like the construction sequence during the very beginning: why are lights growing up? You have an excellent concept: a "toy" stadium with real play going on inside. Given this theme, I would have liked to see more changes back and forth between points of view. ===== From agage@mines.edu: I particularly like the background wall in the first sequence. The rest of the animation is good, but a little wooden. Maybe that's how it should be though... The topic for the next round is games -- don't you wish you had known that? :) ===== From Martin.Magnusson.7121@student.uu.se: I don't think it was necessary to crop the animation. Most MPEG encoders can, just like JPEG encoders, set diferent levels of compression. I like the walls and the build-up of the arena. The movement of the players could need some more work. ===== From chrisj@digiquill.com: I really liked the part where the one player is charging for the goal and get's tripped by another one. Stadium construction didn't work very well. ===== From quinet@gamers.org: Nice animation. The grass is not very realistic, but I know that it is difficult to do (I have never seen a convincing rendering of grass, fur, velvet or hair in a raytracer - that would probably require an efficient implementation of 3D textures... but I digress). Suggestion: when the camera zooms out of the box at the end of the animation, it would be nice if there were still some players in the field. ===== From bill@apocalypse.org: Wow, the soccer plays looked pretty good and must have taken a lot of skill to recreate. Still, the players look robotic to some degree. ===== From arcana@sinbad.net: Very nice anim. :{) ===== From r@159.134.245.19: Sorry either title or description did not appeal to me. ===== From r@dial-up40.webbernet.net: I dislike soccer for the same reason that I hate "letterboxed" computer graphics. Nevermind. Nonetheless, this is an extremely impressive piece of work. The modeling is very detailed for an anim, as are the backgrounds. I like the red clothlike backdrop. The beginning part where you orbit the device and play with the lights really adds little. I think that you would have been better off to reduce that material to a short establishing shot and concentrate on the game itself. That is where this anim really shines. The human articulation is plausible and pretty well done, although not entirely realistic. A bit more attention to acceleration and deceleration of limbs would help the realism. The choreography itself is very dramatic and, given my limited soccer watching, seems lifelike. Again, the background and detail of the soccer field are exemplary for an anim. Very well done.
