===== From gregj56590@aol.com: Too much aliasing on door. Carpet looks like it's a flowing river! Excellent physics of bouncing... ===== From vansickl@erols.com: I'd have rated this higher if you had done the physics maths yourself. ===== From agage@mines.edu: Well, whether the computer did all of the work or not, it turned out fairly well. Two things I noticed: first, when the jack strikes the garage door, it seems that there is an artifact -- the shadows on the garage door seem to get much bigger for just a fraction of a second. The concrete was decent, not sure if that was just a default or what tho. ===== From Martin.Magnusson.7121@student.uu.se: I like the lighting. The bricks seem a bit flat though, some extra modelling or normal modifiers would have helped. ===== From chrisj@digiquill.com: It certainly is realistic looking, only thing I can say is turn on the AntiAliasing. ===== From bill@apocalypse.org: Very well-done, realistic motion. The bouciness of the jack was a nice touch, almost gave it character. ...longer, with more going on would have been very nice. ===== From kentdj@revealed.net: I downgraded you on technical merit because (as you freely admit) there wasn't much in the way of technical skill involved in creating it (the door looks nice though). I look forward to seeing future submissions from you as you gain more experience. ===== From arcana@sinbad.net: Good representation of the mathematics of a tumble and bounce of a jack. Question, why did the jack seem to make the garage door push in? I noted a shadow on the garage in frames 17 through 19 that gave that impression. ===== From r@smsq1.comm.hq.af.mil: I loved the kinematics of this one. ===== From r@159.134.245.19: The description said this animation was thrown so easily that I very easily disregarded this one. ===== From r@dial-up40.webbernet.net: For the simple creation process you describe, a very credible anim. No real story, but at least there was action, dynamics, change - not just the same repetitive motion for two minutes or so. Very nice background for an anim. The big downside may be an artifact of either the compression process or the TrueSpace way of handling randomness. I do not know which. I refer, of course, to the "crawling" ground and most of all to the walking jaggies at discontinuities, particularly between the garage door and the ground. The dynamics of the jack were pretty plausible. Get familiar with the tool, and you could possibly create something really amazing. This comment by clem@dhol.com.
