===== From clem@dhol.com: Incredible detail, excellent effects. Derivative plotline. Some transitions too choppy. Beautiful rocket trails, interesting, if familiar cockpit shots. Deserves more original logo. Excellent motion work. I like the leg action. Nice ending segue. Fire just a bit too uniformly yellow. ===== From djconnel@flash.net: I've never awarded a 20 in any contest before... until now. INCREDIBLE! Technically this is professional-grade. Amazing. I've seen it at least 50 times. The walking is excellent. Okay -- there is a slight flaw in the stride which isn't reflected in the center-of-mass motion, so the physics are slightly off. But this is more than offset by an overwhelming presentation of excellence. The title alone is a masterpiece. The explosions are excellent. The representation of the terrain is excellent. The modeling of the walkers is outstanding. The cockpit scene shows incredible attention to detail. Almost any frame of this one would be a worthy entry into the stills competition (for an appropriate topic). Amazing.... ... but it is ever so slightly nontopical. It wouldn't take much to fix this... a scoreboard perhaps. Or numbers on the walkers. Or a visible camera recording the "action". Still, it's an outstanding piece of work! ===== From Martin.Magnusson.7121@student.uu.se: This most definitely looks like a winner. But I'll give you some constructive criticism/nit-picking: the explosions in the background have visible edges (you can see the sphere they're contained in), and the canyon itself is a bit too flat. Enhancing the resolution of the height_field instead of using normals would look a lot better. Other than that - nothing but perfect! ===== From gregj56590@aol.com: An impressive achievement in detail and movement for POV-Ray! It was a bit too violent and 3DS-like for my personal taste: a wholly subjective opinion. ===== From Alain.Culos@bigfoot.com: I'm not too much a war game person, but I cannot really be too subjective either. The camera movements are very well chosen I think. There is a real script there (short, but existant). Smoother walk would be a top. ===== From bill@apocalypse.org: Very pretty animation - great vivid colors and good action. I find the subject matter to be a bit typical, but this is a well done animation. ===== From r@pa-ppp31.hevanet.com: Nice animation Notable for textures, modelling ===== From r@proxy.cowan.edu.au: Very good animation and graphics, an example of quality resolution. Notable for textures, modelling ===== From r@207-172-73-182.s182.tnt1.man.erols.com: Excellent in every way. This one and Pool Shark were head and shoulders above the rest. Notable for modelling ===== From r@px2-reg2-hme1.melbourne.aone.net.au: My friends have long been looking to work up the enthusiasm to do such a scene in 3DS Max. I can't belive you managed to do such an incredable animation in POV-Ray. I didn't think it was possible. Fantastic work Notable for originality ===== From r@kol44.kauhajoki.fi: Whoa, cool, robots and lasers and explosions!!! Looks very nice, however. Notable for textures, lighting
