===== From jasondinger@hotmail.com: even though the animation of the runners limbs was a little sluggish, it was a very cool animation. an original idea indeed. very good figures, for using only blobs. one distracter: when it zooms from the "wooden" runners to the "metallic" runners, it's a little too quick and kind of confusing. ===== From clem@dhol.com: The modelling is great. The idea is strange, but interesting. I particularly like the facial detail. A little too much up and down motion in the running. Nonetheless the motion animation is remarkable. The reflections on the metal men add interest. The top of the legs is too symmetrical. This gives an effect of buttocks on the front of the body that is a bit jarring. ===== From djconnel@flash.net: This is the best walking animation I've seen with POV -- the use of the blobs is excellent. So technically, despite the general simplicity of the net animation, this really is an accomplishment! I like the use of the reflections in the scene -- the opening is very well done! The "passing" scene is really nicely done, as well.... the proximity effect due to the blob equations is a nice effect! So overall, there is nothing I don't like about this. The only thing that keeps it from quite being a contest winner is the net simplicity... there really isn't much "plot" or much context offered by the background. Still, it is a strong contender for the "podium", especially in its technical aspects! ===== From PovRayGuy@aol.com: Good bodies, need to work on the movement just a bit. ===== From Alain.Culos@bigfoot.com: I must admit I am not able to do that, but I would really have liked to see a smoother walk. This is not a walk that is realistic at all, even for a robot. Some variety of tecture in the mountains would enhance the scene. I like the start on the reflection off the metal men. And I was not bothered by the reflections from the finish sign. More textures would really have made it much better as well as more work on the walk. ===== From bill@apocalypse.org: Good job on the motion of the men. The transition from the reflection (at the start) happened too fast for me, I had to watch it a couple times to understand what had happened. The concept of the T2 like lane change reads well, but we all know it's easier to have object run each other over than it is to have them actually affect each other. ===== From r@pa-ppp31.hevanet.com: Quite impressive when one runner flows through the one in front of him. Notable for lighting, textures ===== From r@proxy.cowan.edu.au: Very clever and original. Camera movement a little too much Notable for modelling, originality, textures ===== From r@207-172-73-182.s182.tnt1.man.erols.com: The animation of the runners seemed very unnatural. ===== From r@proxy.mch.sni.de: Notable for modelling, originality ===== From r@kol44.kauhajoki.fi: Wait a minute, what is this? Could it be... An original idea at IRTC? This is definitely the winner, I don't care if it's ugly. Notable for originality
