===== From agage@csee.usf.edu: Beautiful. Very nice attention to detail, such as the flapping wings of the birds. I also like the credits -- very nice use of POVray. ===== From manorton@tcnet.net: Blobs? You did those with blobs? Excellent! Your animation was wonderfull. Just wish it was longer :-) There are only a couple of spots that could use some improvment. When the flea jumps from the cat I get a little dizzy following the flea. And something about the smooth gradual turn as you enter the cell then straighten right out and move to the protein strands makes me uneasy. Maybe try to ease the whole camera movment and make it more fluid. Very well done though. MANorton ===== From clem@dhol.com: Incredible job in all respects. The attention to detail is superb. The birds flying, the cat following them visually, the cushion texture under the dust mite, the mite's rough shell, the detail of the flea, the realistic motion.... I am also impressed by your success in compressing all of this to such a small size and with such good quality with cmpeg. The only noticeable artifacting was some minor crawling texture on the roof of the house and around a few edges. The pacing, camera work and effects were also very good. Nice segue from the atomic nucleus to the closing credit fadein. Truly an outstanding animation. ===== From arcana@sinbad.net: Really crisp imagery. ===== From vansickl@erols.com: I really liked the way the bird flew around, and the modeling of the mite was impressive. (vansickl@erols.com) ===== From gregj56590@aol.com: Not only is the house photorealistic, but I wish I owned it! Unrealistic in lack of magazines, soda bottles, bubble gum wrappers on floor, if it is in fact a real person's home ;-). I gotta criticize something, man. The first few seconds with cat's head following birds flying by is breathtaking. Superb technical and artistic merit up to the point of entering the mite's gut, where artistic style and detail of construction abruptly changes, almost making me wish whole thing ended with first view of mite. The carpeting doesn't seem right, way too smooth, at the finest scale. ===== From chrisj@digiquill.com: You have the best looking cat I have seen in a pov scene, still or animated. The nucleus at the end needs to look more like a nucleus (several multicolored spheres) Nice house in the beginning ===== From djconnel@flash.net: Excellent!!! Technically, this is fantastic. The transition from outside, to the birds, to the cat, to the mite is brilliant. But then, there's a bit of a loss... there are jumps in scale which are harder to follow, and the film just sort of ends. Overall, this is really good. But what makes it so is the first 60%. ===== From r@cache.mch.sni.de: good modeling. A more original idea would have been better though. Notable for lighting, modelling ===== From r@crash.wwwcache.ja.net: Brilliant. The house looks great (the bird reflections included) and all the animals are really well modelled. By only complains are that it's not long enough (10 minutes would be much better. :-) ), and the cat seems to move a little stiffly. Notable for textures, composition, lighting, modelling
