===== From clem@dhol.com: The modelling and textures were quite good and the animation was smooth. The "story" was badly hampered by the senseless premise. The hapless brain-in-a-box could have worked as a surreal experiment by a lunatic or as an incredible and ironic accident of juxtaposed parts in a recycling station, but building such a thing into a grandfather clock for no reason isn't even crazy, just stupid and pointless. Maybe if it had at least been designed to inadvertently chime the hour or something via yet another mechanism .... There were pacing problems too. You spent much too much time watching the pendulum. An establishing shot for one or two cycles and a *quick* pan up to the works would have been plenty. You spent too much time with too little action just touring the clockworks, too. Especially in a constrained environment like irtc-anim, you have to be ruthless with an animation. If it doesn't contribute to or advance the story, out with it! I appreciate the work you put into the very nicely assembled clockworks, but you needed to get more story-mileage out of that effort. ===== From gregj56590@aol.com: In comparing the two "clock" entries, I have to say I like the style of this one less. The style of construction looks too "raytraced": I would recommend adding fog, rough edges, dirt, less distinct color maps, some specularity, etc.
