===== From agage@csee.usf.edu: Very visually pleasing. The letterbox format, fog, motion blur, and soundtrack help give a grand-scale feel to the whole thing. Now, if only I could figure out what the machine did... ===== From vansickl@erols.com: Technically and artistically this was very good, but the theme was nothing more than "watch my machine run." (vansickl@erols.com) ===== From Martin.Magnusson.7121@student.uu.se: Wow, that's beautiful! I love the blur effects and the dust. Good modelling, good camera movement, good textures. The people aren't that obvious though. It took me three times before I spotted them. Great work! ===== From arcana@sinbad.net: Very, very nice work. ===== From clem@dhol.com: Didn't really work. For starters, letterbox isn't artistic. When it works at all, it is because the scene is very horizontal and not too deep. This one, like most, didn't fit that criterion and suffered constantly from inartistic crowding and truncation. Too much panning and not enough motion. The gears that were moving weren't meshed and the ones that were meshed were stationary. The odd opening and closing added nothing and could have been removed without loss. The lighting effects didn't help, either. The animation as a whole was washed out and somewhat blurry, which certainly did it no good. There was no coherent story. On the other hand, the modelling was pretty good and what motion there was was smooth. ===== From gregj56590@aol.com: Excellent. Nice details. ===== From ianshumsky@hotmail.com: A great looking movie, but I could not see the people refered to in your description.
