But anyway.  Very nicely done.  There is a story being told here, and the
manner
in which it is done is very good.  The difference in the scene in the before
and after shots is particularly well done.

The programmer in the early shots could be made to move more (maybe gripping
the
chair in his hands, etc.) and the motion is sluggish at times, but the level
of detail is incredible.

Good job of telling a story visually, although the robot seems to be playing a
 bit-part.  Despite your own objections, I find the scenes to be reasonably
complex.  
However, they do seem to be somewhat dis-proportionate.

- The walls (outside and inside) are exceptionally clean and
  smooth. The lighting could need some more work to show
  the difference between the outdoors and indoors more.

Excellent texturing.  Are the human figures your own or Poser??--makes it easier
to decide your originality and technical scores!
I'm judging your animation on a PC with no soundcard--apparently legal to do
so--and so missed any sound you put in this piece, and so the news story on TV
loses some appeal.

The robot is not central to story, in fact the story would work just as well
without the robot.  The camera motion needs to be smoothed out.
