ANIMATION DESCRIPTION: During the 2 last years, i used moray/povray for my still images only, so the world of animation is totally new and mysterious for me.. Since i acquired 3ds, i've got the animation basics and find them very simple. This animation give you a little preview of the winzip compression system. Because the EXE files is the most "standart" in the world of computers, i decided to use them for the live-compression. I got this idea from my start menu. i didn't use any painting program, the "compression room" is really under the start menu, as you can see when opening my source file "winzip.max" HOW THIS ANIMATION WAS CREATED: The architecture of the animation is simple: The display is based on cubes mapped with screenshots. Before entering inside the start menu, the camera shows you some strange objects on the table. They are: -a piece of paper made with 3 nurbs. -an eraser made with lowpoly. -a red cable made with a simple spline with the "render" option. The inside winzip sequence is more simple: as you can see, there are no complex objects, just primitives, but the colored textures and maps make this sequence very fun. it was too difficult to synchronise the movement of the EXE files with the movement of the compressors. i maked it frame-per-frame. (decreasing the size of the EXE then moving the compressors) the movement of the camera is simple with keyframes manipulations. When you enter inside the green tunnel, there is a light with the multiplyer value "0" then it goes to "1" 20 frames later. that makes the realistic effect of a lamp illuminating the scene. The entire animation is not very complex, but i think i did my best for the originality. See you soon. VIEWING RECOMMENDATIONS: windows media player 6.4
