===== From maal-irtc20030115@anthrosphinx.de: Beautiful images, and the scene with the asteroids becoming the ring of a planet is breathtaking... ===== From Martin.Magnusson.7121@student.uu.se: Great! There's a lot of things I like about this movie. The thrusters, the reflections in the ship's hull, the lighting, the models, the scene where the ship is in a bubble, the space backdrops... It feels quite a bit like Eve online -- you're not a beta tester, are you? The only scene I think lacks something is the one from inside the shuttle. The character sitting there looks too stiff, and the textures are pretty bland. The rest of it is really great work! I'd be willing to bet something that this is going to win, even though this is the first anim I rate this round. ===== From javaearl@hotmail.com: Cool. ===== From marlo.steed@uleth.ca: Nice animation. I liked the surreal experience - yet realistic in many ways. One inconsistent aspect of your animation - the reflection on the hull tiles seemed to turn on and off. That seemed strange to me. For instance if the Hull was highly reflective you would think it would be that way from the beginning to end (e.g. first scene it had no reflection). Really liked the affect of the ship appearing in the second scene. The texture of the planet was great nicely done. The cockpit view was a bit sparse in terms of detail. When the ship passess through the mirror one would expect to see initial waves - you do include that later but that causes a bit of dissonance. ===== From evilsnack@hotmail.com: JV: I like the way the clouds look. I should add something like that to the Rusty series. ===== From maarten_hofman@hotmail.com: Nice storyline, interesting scenery... The space concept is a bit unoriginal, though. ===== From pterandon@yahoo.com: Even cooler with U2's "Lady with the Spinning Head" playing in the background. ===== From jps6860@yahoo.com: This is one of my favorites. Well done all around. I think I would have like it even more if you had somehow incorporated the story ideas from the text file into the animation, even if it was just a scrolling text screen. Two other minor flaws. The inside of the ship seems rather barren and the fleet (or at least the one ship we get a close view of) looks a bit too simplistic compared to the shuttle. But again these are just minor issues and don't detract from the rest of the great work. ===== From clem@dhol.org: Nice job. I like the starting clouds and the ending nebula. The ship has a Space Shuttle look, but the surface seems to switch between a rough matte and smooth and shiny.
