===== From Markus.Altendorff@asamnet.de: Nice underwater setup - including particles floating with the waves. ===== From maal-irtc20030115@anthrosphinx.de: + Nice underwater setup - including particles floating with the waves. + Camera movements seemed odd at first, but are right for a diver that slowly approaches ===== From evilsnack@hotmail.com: This wasn't really an escape. I also noted that some of the sand on the creature's arm seems to fade away for some strange reason. This hurt your technical score. ===== From schaneville@hotmail.com: Fantastic rendering. The realism in the movement of underwater plants really add a lot to the anim. I like water caustics too. The fish textures were wonderful. I noticed the transition to a second squid. I presume that this was because the first wasn't animatable, but the second wasn't fully textured? Anyway, I didn't notice it the first several times I watched the film... the front most arm is what tipped me off. It isn't in the same place before and after the transition. All in all, a very well put together animation. A little shorter than many on this contest site, but I'll give you high marks for this one in the technical category for your rendering and texturing abilities. ===== From jminner@sc.rr.com: Very nice and smooth animation. ===== From zach@brewstergeisz.cjb.net: A really, really nice sense of the density of water. As you alluded, the character animation of the octopus is a little off... I think you need more of a curve-based movement; currently, his motion is very linear. When you have such a beautiful and realistic render, such little things as that really pop out. ===== From s.mitchell@tue.nl: Nice ink cloud. It really looks like it's under water. ===== From irtc_mail@yahoo.co.uk: The fish look good but are they all identical? There is not much movement in this scene apart from the camera. There is a very strange error when just before the octopus moves, the arms fade into view. It is difficult to judge the animation of the octopus as most of the movement of octopus hidden by ink. ===== From file: where did sqewshy go? :) nice underwater effect, although there could be some bubbles (bubbles! my bubbles! :) or something, and the squid's movements seems a bit mechanical (sorry for the Nemo references - at that timing - you asked for it) Notable for lighting
