HARDWARE USED: Compaq Presario 2170US laptop (Celeron 2GHz, 128Meg RAM) Homebuilt Athlon XP 2400 (512Meg RAM) Homebuilt Athlon 900 ANIMATION DESCRIPTION: The Master of the robots decides that his time has come. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS ANIMATION WAS CREATED: The Master was done with my new subdivision surface modeler. Both the suit and the face were done this way. The eyeballs themselves are textured spheres. I would have had the alien outside of the suit, but the modeler doesn't support uv-mapping (yet) and without that it's too difficult to model an alien to the level of realism I want. I found a couple of bugs in the modeler while using it to make the alien. I also discovered a heap of features I want to add. The rest of the animation was done with ordinary CSG. I typed out a bunch of scene code, rendered the frames, and slapped them together with an MPEG compiler, just like I always do.
