Fabien Villard 27 rue Paul Bert 92600 Asni villard_f@decusf.edunet.cnam.fr xOx ---oOOo-x-oOOo--- I am french and not fluent in english, so excuse me for errors in my writings. I work in ray-tracing since 1 year and a half, exactly since i've discovered PoV. I use only that program and a few lines of code I write myself to generate some shapes made with PoV primitives. Actually I can't use any modellers for my 14" display is quickly full of white lines representing volumes, and just unusable. So I calculate and imagine until my bank account is a little less empty and that's not going to comme soon, because I'm just buying a small house :-)) I work in computer science, but not with scientists and my knowledges in math and geometry are very far, but it's also very exciting to rediscover all that stuff. The image here is just a try to modelize some new shapes with the quartic concept, but what I call the body of the pumpkin make me think of a leek. So I put a pumpkin on it and let my dreams create the rest. Details about the shapes are in the script. It has been calculated on my own 486 DX}66 based machine and took 1h 37mn to render with antialising 0.4 in the 640x480 resolution. There's no really difficulty in that but I promise to post some other scripts I've worked on wich are a little more enjoyable :-))) Fab.
