TOY.JPG, by Pyra Description: An executive toy resembling a Rutherford-bohr atomic model Programs used: POVRay and the MidNight Modeller Rendering time: 14 hours on a 486dx2/66 with 8 megs of ram running WSPOV07 under Win95(build 347) Comments: Ok...this is my first entry into this competition, and my first crack at photorealism with POV, and I must say I was extremely surprised by the quality of the output. The "toy" is an exact replica of the executive toy that sits on the desk in my father's study. I got the idea to trace this while walking around the house and looking for things that I could easily translate into primitives. The toy consists of a few spheres, cylinders, and toruses and a couple of simple CSG's. The wall is one of the DMFWood textures that comes with POV, and the desk is the RoseWood texture. I'm not really sure if this scene fits under the definition of "gadgets and odd devices" but I figured I'd enter it anyways. Enjoy, pyra@interlog.com (aka Jumi Kassim)
