DNA in space For: The official "Raytracing" competition on the internet. Topic: Science Let's see here.... This is my first every entry into the contest. I made the "world" image with Kai's power tools via Aldus Photo Styler. Which I "projected" on a partial sphere. After many many attempts I finally got something I thought would be good. The only picture i didn't make is a reflection map that came with Crystal Topas. (which by the way is where i modeled and rendered my scene) I created the DNA twice. First I made it with like little wrapped candy shapes instead of the cylinder style. I changed when I got better info for the DNA from my friends Encyclopedia on CD. They used the cylinder with the split halves which solved my problems with the other shapes. To get the round look I used the raytracing features Topas to get the reflections for these little beasts. Just this morning around 10a.m. I accidentally deleted my scene file and my back up wasn't...... but I guess God had mercy cause i rebooted and did a little flailing and got it back. And did my final render at 4 p.m. I have spent around 5 weeks total actually working on and revamping this project I hope you like it. I have a DX2/66 with about 1gig hard drive space 16 megs ram and a 15" monitor. This, me, and my mouse have tried our best to please. If anyone in interested in the model file or any object file let me know where you want it uploaded.
