----+----1----+----2----+----3----+----4----+----5----+----6----+----7----+----8 PFM_PALE.TXT Info file for Paleontology.jpg This image was created using POV-Ray 2.2. The Brontosaurus skeleton was taken from a wooden model that I have in my room. Since I don't have a scanner, I took all the pieces and made copys of them. I then faxed all of the images to my computer. Once they were in my computer I retouched, rotated, and cropped each piece. Using a paint program I was able to find out the location in inches and the rotation in degrees of each piece. After I knew these numbers for the pieces, I wrote a program to read them in. It then spit out the scene file for most of the skeleton. I had to position the legs, head, and one or two the vertebrate by hand. The skeleton is really a bunch of material mapped boxes. I tried to use height fields, but I ran out of memory fast. The mountains are a height field made with the leopard texture. The isn't anything special about the clouds or the water. I rendered the tack in a seperate scenes and added it in the foreground later. I wanted to stick it in the scene but I don't know the true locations of anything in the scene.
