djscart1.jpg: Image file djsarch1.zip: Source. If you have StuffIt Expander, just drop this file on to the program icon to get the source. Otherwise, unzip to get a MacBinary file, decode this, then run the Self Extracting Archive (.sea) file. Either method produces a source file called "djscart1". Entry for comp.graphics.rendering.raytracing competition, November 1995. Subject: Comics & Cartoons Author: David Stevenson (hoagy@cix.compulink.co.uk) Software: KPT Bryce 1.0 for the Apple Macintosh. Took approx 3 hours to render on a Performa 475 with FPU. Notes: The first thing that came into my mind about comics are the spelt-out sounds effects, "zap", "thwack", "aarrghh" etc, so for a first image I just took one of these words, made a height- field, and rendered against standard sea and sky background. Hopefully I'll get time to enter something mroe sophisticated too, but I must say that I quite like the simplicity of this one. David Stevenson, 11/11/95.
