DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: Just using the features of POVRAY 3.0, I created this one out of my head. Continuing to think about how time has been measured. Used several standard include textures, like the clouds and ground textures. The sundial here is a take off of one I had in my front yard when I was growing up. The ground surfaces were all created using POVRay and outputing to 16bit grayscale tgas. The three background files need to be rendered first before the final scene is rendered. The concept for these is the same as one of the demo files with POVRay3.0beta, "crater.pov". The fog is a layered one. I got the idea for this by reading the 3.0 documentation. For the numbers, I chose Roman numerals becuase they look better than just normal numbers. The font is Bernhard Modern Bold. You will need to change this if you do not have it. The sky is Darin Dugger's DD_Cloud_Sky texture mapped onto a pair of planes as per in the "skies.inc" file included with POV3.0b. Enjoy!
