Hey, I like this.  I wanted to do Discovery or the space station used near
the beginning of the film but I couldn't find a picture of it.  I'm going to
have to go look for the book you talk about.  Anyway, nice image!

The textures seem a little flat.  I realize the chrome has problems because of
reflection... I find a normal, however slight, helps dress up such things.  For
instance, a normal { bozo 0.1 turbulence 0.5 scale 0.1 } can do wonders.

I thought the pod was white instead of chrome? Anyway I think you did a far 
better putting it in 2001disc.jpg. The lighting isn't natural here, and the 
model isn't important in itself in my oppinion.
