===== It'd be nicer if the dolphin was made from smooth triangles. And it's left eye appears to be several inches outside its head... ===== dolphin is a bit angular, and its eyes don't quite touch its head. ===== good idea, needs more sophisticated shading. ===== Your dolphin needs work. ===== You may want to randomize the position of the fish a bit more. Schooling fish are pretty random, and there seems to be some clustering there. Somewhere out there is a model of a dolphin that is more detailed and looks less "triangular." Looks good! ===== Pov-Ray contain the SMOOTH TRYANGLE command. ===== The scene doesn't look as 'underwaterish' as is could do. Try putting fish into the grid randomly on or off (ie if RAND > 0.5 then put FISH , ELSE dont put FISH. ===== Well, the lighting and colors are nice. ===== For POV it's perty good. I can only say to add more textures (not flat mirrors) and use smooth triangles for the dolphin. ===== well what is that ===== While I like the concept, there were a couple of things that bothered me about the picture. The dolphin could have been rendered with smooth triangles, and there were too many fish looking a bit too orderly. Perhaps rotating the fish location about the radius of the ship may have made them look a bit more random. ===== It's hard to tell exactly what it is... ===== Nice image of the dolphins characters in the book ===== The facets on the dolphin are distracting - he should be smoothed. There are no visual cues to tell me that the ship in farther in the background, at first I thought the dolphin was being carried by the ship. There are no clues that this is an underwater shot either except for the fish. How about some atmospherics and under-water style lighting? BTW at the depths you are describing in your text, there would be almost no reds showing. ===== This picture wasn't perfect, and the author should do better job. Somehow I liked the idea. Here is what I am thinking. Many science fiction stories do involved with machines, but also animals. Bio-robic machine or anything similar could be a very good idea about what will be happend in science fiction. Similar idea was from a game called "BioFoge" by Origin. I personally think it is a great idea and has some successful connection to the title. ===== Nice image. The ship was a little confusing. The fish looked nice. Should have smoothed the triangles on the dolphin model before using it.
