TITLE: "A Room with a View" NAME: John Matthews COUNTRY: United States of America EMAIL: jpm@hnv.com WEBPAGE: n/a TOPIC: Glass COPYRIGHT: I SUBMIT TO THE STANDARD RAYTRACING COMPETITION JPGFILE: aroom.jpg ZIPFILE: aroom.zip RENDERER USED: Polyray 1.8 TOOLS USED: POVCAD, SPRY ImageView (For converting to JPG) RENDER TIME: about 5 hrs. HARDWARE USED: Pentium 100MHz, 16M RAM IMAGE DESCRIPTION: This image was my first real attempt to draw a scene from everyday life. It is a room looking out on two people playing football. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: First of all the idea for this image was conceived over several months of "what can I draw that looks really good and real?" Easier said than done. The people were mutated from the original people files that came along with Polyray. The picture on the wall was taken from Timo Ettanen's previously submitted Graveyard picture. The Blue Glass Vase was a Lathe drawn by hand and the color and transparency are of my own making. The glass window had to tweaked to reflect just enough of the room and enough of the outdoors. The mountains are a height field generated from the plasma.tga file that came with PolyRay 1.8. The Lamps were going to be stained glass lamps but time played a factor in this, so they ended up being simple lathes using the texture from "Mid Summer Night Dream" file previously submitted.
