with povray to create images of our world falling into ruins.
In continuation of this work, I found in the povray competition topic 
"School"  a precious opportunity to create an expressive allegory about 
Peace and War.


DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: 

The image was created entirely with POV-Ray, except for the 
drawings of the height fields and image-maps which were built 
using bitmap paint programs. The main characteristic of this image 
is the heavy use of height fields in many contexts : sixteen heigt 
fields were used to create this picture, some as objects (e.g. the 
back wall of the school) and others to sculpt and damage simple 
shapes (e.g. the wooden box object for the table, the blackboard) or 
even other height field objects (like the hole in the wall).
I have chosen a range of soft and light colors to highlight the 
importance of the red blot in the foreground. The long rendering 
time is also caused by using a finer anti aliasing threshold.
