===== From agage@mines.edu: I do like the window reflections on the balls. One thing that I noticed about the balls though, especially the white ones: they look very pearl-like, or even like a white balloon -- I can't shake the feeling that they're hollow, that I could blow it off the table. How much transparency was given on the ball surface? I might have to find that in the include file... ===== From jjanger@mail.cspp.edu: Quite a lot of detail, yet it lacks a backgroud that would give the image more dimension. A back wall or something seems to be necessary. Good trick with the chalk BTW. ===== From wozzeck@club-internet.fr: Sorry for your windows, indeed. You may be surprised, but the part I preffer is the piece of chalk! I have never seen one as realistic as this one. Sorry you had not enough time to step down the antialiasing threshold (the ruler!) ===== From mcivor@wolfenet.com: I liked the scene with the extra detail in the reflections, it adds a really interesting effect ! ===== From jaime@ctav.es: Tipic, but very well realized. ===== From sonya_roberts@geocities.com: I liked that you continued your scene beyond what was visible "on camera" - the reflections in the infinity-ball really add to the realism of the image. One small problem...you have so many soft shadows that the balls end up appearing as if they're floating just off the felt, rather than sitting on it. ===== From Jean-Luc.Peuriere@wanadoo.fr: Note there is a form of billiard called artistic billiard where the purpose is to realise a figure drawn with chalk on the table ;-) ===== From gmccarter@hotmail.com: Not bad, not bad at all. ===== From cfusner@enter.net: Other than being a basic POV object, pool is also a fairly quintessential game of physics. However, I liked the original touch of adding math symbols to the balls. That elevated it out of the realm of cliches. It is hard to tell for a long moment what vaguely bothers me about this image, but then I realized: there is too much reflection on the balls. I understand it was an effort to show off more of the room, but it does look a tiny bit too glossy. ===== From alex@astro.queensu.ca: like the balls' reflectivity, very realistic ===== From SSchanevil@aol.com: Nice chalk dust and chalk lines. Interesting observation... If I'm looking down the table long ways, the stick looks like it would hang over the edge of the table too far to stay there (it would tip over to the floor). If I'm looking across the table and it extends far to the right, the stick should be flat on the table. Am I seeing this wrong? ===== From bsieker@techfak.uni-bielefeld.de: I like the chalk drawing, looks quite natural, also the unusual font for the numbers on the balls. Hey, what's "American snooker"? I though snooker was an original British game. The billiard balls have too low specularity.
