It consists of a circle of runes surrounded by a sparkling lightning. Alba is a world I created as a background for some roleplaying-games. On Alba magic plays an important role, so the picture fits perfectly this rounds topic. For those of you, who cannot read Simur (the runes on the stones ;-) the runes read 'agbas rogis' meaning 'magic door' or 'magic portal' (literally 'door of magic') (This is Simur, a language I created to be the ancient symbols on Alba.) DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: At first I created the stones and the portal. The stones are height-fields and the runes are taken from a font I created some month ago for my language Simur. Then I added the sky and grass, which I have already used for the temple-scene (the destination of the portal, which is added later). I created the grass-heightfield in a paint-program spraying with different grays. The river, I subtracted from the grass, is also a height-field. The destination is an image-map of the Temple of Sarha, which is projected on a (surprise, surprise!) height-field. To add some environment, I created the trees with lparser3, a height-field wrapped around an orb (gforge13, orb) for the rocks, the mountains (taken from the temple-scene) and some reed. Finally I added the stone with my initials and adjusted the lights.
