DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: 


This image was the result of a lot of research that didn't result in much.
I spent a lot of time going through various fantasy books I had to try to get
some ideas, but to no avail.
In the end, I just started with a very rough, small idea and went from there.
The result is what you can see.

The image itself is not all that complex, however I have used a lot of
different
objects to make the scene. The hightfield closest to the camera was
made using povray itself, while the mountain range was made using HF-Lab.
The claw in the pond was made using Winblob. And the rest I modeled by hand.
