TITLE: It's All In The Wrist NAME: Dale E. Cieslak COUNTRY: USA EMAIL: dciesla@uakron.edu WEBPAGE: www.geocities.com/SoHo/Studios/9434 (not ready yet, however!) TOPIC: Magic COPYRIGHT: I SUBMIT TO THE STANDARD RAYTRACING COMPETITION COPYRIGHT. JPGFILE: wrist.jpg ZIPFILE: wrist.zip RENDERER USED: POVray for Windows TOOLS USED: Moray 2.5b RENDER TIME: 15 minutes, 33 seconds with anti-aliasing of 0.3 HARDWARE USED: 100 MHz Pentium, 32 MB RAM, 2 MB Matrox Millenium IMAGE DESCRIPTION: This image made me realize that POVray is every bit as powerful as high-end, high-cost 3D packages, such as 3D Studio MAX or Strata Studio Pro Blitz. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: I created this image while playing with blobs. Moray doesn't allow creation of blobs, but it is nice for placement of objects. I created a hand in Moray out of cylinders and spheres, then turned them into blob components by hand. Everything else I did by hand in the POVray for Windows editor (very nice and easy to use, I might add). I had to do hundreds of test renders to tweak the blobs (because I had never used them before), but I am pleased with the results.
