===== From sonya_roberts@geocities.com: Interesting. The banners are nicely shaped. The colours seem a bit odd in the image, sort of plastic-y - did you use a high ambient value for them? The plane of cards idea was nice, but the closest ones are too aliased, you might have been better off positioning your camera or placing something in the foreground do that the closest cards weren't visible. Good effort. ===== From kazemir@pde.com: I like the "sheets" in the sky. The image is a little confusing to the eye. Too many patterns. ===== From bill.marrs@pureatria.com: The wild choice of colors confuses my eye, enough that I find the scene unappealing. ===== From wozzeck@club-internet.fr: Original concept. Your plane of cards would need a higher resolution. Concerning your muse figures, it could be interesting to flatly map them on a thin box and to adjust it to make it perpendicular to the camera. ===== From bsieker@techfak.uni-bielefeld.de: What can I say? Why are there no shadows? No interesting lighting? Why can't I recognize anything? A little less screaming textures would be nice. What's "personal software"? What the heck took 28 hours to render on a Pentium? From my experience a scene like this should take less than 28 minutes! ===== From i_emackay@mountains.net.au: Too much colour. The things in the scene lack substance. The picture is confusing. One thing well made is more pleasing than many quick pieces. ===== From Martin.Magnusson.7121@student.uu.se: playing cards. ===== From arcana@sinbad.net: It's an interesting image, but I had some troubles discerning things. The sky has some strange jaggies going through it. The wall running diagonally through the image needs its shadowing to be a bit darker. As it is, it appears wafer thin. The harp looks nice, and the concept of the cards for the plane and mountains is interesting. The images of the muses are very hard to see. I'm not sure if they are just odd images placed upon disks, or actual figures stuck inside glass shperes with high IOR. It's difficult to discern. The banners on the flag poles are great, except for the two in the foreground on the left. They seem to be blowing against the wind. :{) ===== From bobfranke@halcyon.com: Too busy. I think the phrase "less is more" applies here. ===== From web_user@flex058.dijkgraaf.wau.nl: I don't really know what to make of this scene... it's surrealistic, but a bit of a mess (excusez le mot) too. I think you made a wrong choice with the texture of the archway, it interferes with all the other elements of the scene in a negative way (some can hardly be distinguished). I like the way you modelled the clouds, they look great! You might have picked a larger image-map for the cards though, I think, the individual pixels are a bit too big, I think that sharply shaped hearts would have been a big improvement to the entire scene.
