I don't know the original Magritte paining (although I know Magritte as a
painter), but your entry seems rather uninspired and the rendering is very
"flat". Also don't be ashamed to use a higher JPEG quality setting to minimize
visible artifacts.

The major stumbling block with trying to adequately judge such an entry as
this is that many of the judges, myself included, will have no foreknowledge
of the artist or painting. Without knowing what the original image looked
like, I cannot make a fair determination on your entry. If I have time (I'm
sorely pressed right now), I'll do a web search before submitting my votes.
Also, like many others, you've run into the same problem with the Brick pattern.

It really is bad to use it for objects close to the camera. The grouting ends up

having no depth.
