===== From mlhyde@northnet.com.au: looks good ===== From jkittle@earthlink.net: Good idea, but could use a little more work. ===== From agage@mines.edu: Too many lights (or add no_shadow to objects) ===== From 101741.541@compuserve.com: Some objects are well done (rocker..) but detail is too much localized (jeep,..). Where have you seen such cut-trough-wall windows ? :) Some landscape -even very simple- would have been nice. ===== From wozzeck@club-internet.fr: A few hints... *Put an ambient value of 1.0 for outside image_maps or find a way to avoid shadows coming from inside. *The ducks and car are nicely modelled -the car is a bit too shiny. *I don't think your child sleeps on the wood of his/her bed! Anyway, you're on the right way! ===== From jaime@ctav.es: Very nice for the first scene! Perhaps the camera is too short (direction), and show too much empty space, but there are some nice details. Also don't undestand lighting too well (I see strange shadows and can't figure the lights placing). ===== From bobfranke@halcyon.com: Excellent job on the book. I also like the modeling on the crib and the drapes. There are two areas for improvement. The proportions of some of the objects aren't right. The crib is too small. Also, the horse and the window pane seem to be casting a shadow on the outside grass. ===== From Martin.Magnusson.7121@student.uu.se: The bed's nice. ===== From arcana@sinbad.net: You've done a good job with this image, but I'd like to offer up a couple of suggestions if you'd like. :{) The scale of the crib is off in relation to everything else in the room. It should be larger, and somewhat longer. The big killer in your image is the lighting and ambient/diffuse settings. You've got some hard lighting going on in the image which is throwing off some of the perspectives. Two good examples are: The hard shadow above the chest and the infinitely long shadow of the window frame that seems to extend all the way to the horizon . I'd choose somewhat softer lighting with a strong fall-off. Maybe even stick a light outside the "box" of the room to help counter any strong shadows from inside the room impacting on the outside scene. Putting windows in a scene is always a bugger. You have to guage detail versus the relative impact of what lies beyond the main scene. Anyhow, keep up the great work! :{) ===== From ethelm@bigfoot.com: Very good image. Might have been better if camera had not been set at such a wide angle. Softer lighting might have been also been better. ===== From bill.marrs@pureatria.com: Window lacks a frame, looks a bit odd. The crib lathes look nice. ===== From dick@buckosoft.com: I like the shadow of the crib on the wall. You should have "fuzzed up" the grass outside the window (or is that the roof of a neighboring apartment :) ===== From msfl.bf@fasonet.bf: The camera angle seems a bit strange (too wide). The wood texture of the horse isn't very convincing. You could have put another texture on the windowframe. Other than that, really nice image. The curtains are nicely modelled. ===== From r@regulus.its.uu.se>: You should concentrate on making all objects in the same scale. More detailed texturing and lighting would improve, and some less boasting in the textfile.
