===== From kosh@nesys.com: Very photorealistic and artistic. The great carpet caught my eye first - best I've seen. ===== From jkittle@earthlink.net: Great image, textured very well. ===== From 101741.541@compuserve.com: Coherent use of atmospheric stuff. Good point for all-self-made models. Try to push the use of your software further : open books, bookshelf suffering of books weight,... Avoid such a bright signature in a smooth image :( ===== From wozzeck@club-internet.fr: Very nice picture, with great lighting. It just lacks sharpness to be perfect, and the titles on the boxes look a little vertically "compressed". ===== From jaime@ctav.es: Wow! Who saw that a 3DS user can't win this contest? I'm not, sure! You have demonstrated that even in 3DS MAX or other high-end packages, if you want to create *GOOD* images you must work really *HARD*. Good Luck! P.S.: I must disagree with the very big copyright notice, sorry. :( ===== From eallen@highway1.com: excellent realism. makes me wish i could afford 3dstudio. ===== From bobfranke@halcyon.com: Very well done. I especially really like the rug. I don't get the connection to the topic. ===== From Martin.Magnusson.7121@student.uu.se: Gasp! Stunning! I will be really surprised if this one doesn't win. Just to minor drawbacks: the books in the shellf look stretched, and the basket isn't round. ===== From arcana@sinbad.net: Lovely image! :{) The surface texturing on the wall and floor is quite well done. I would have preferred to be able to read the text on the game boxes a bit better. They look a little too blurry in comparison to the rest of the objects in the scene. The ripples in the carpet should continue onto the fringe (realistically), but considering how you created the fringe, that may have been impossible. Was the design/pattern on the carpet intended to convey a print? If so it's great. If it was, instead, supposed to convey a weave pattern, you should add some weavy surface texture. Still, it's a great image. Well done. :{) ===== From ethelm@bigfoot.com: Your comment that it was not raytraced puts it out of the competion according to the rules but a very nice image. ===== From bill.marrs@pureatria.com: Wow! Great realism and atmosphere. Attention to detail is wonderful - the waves in the rug were a nice touch. The bright-white signature is the only thing wrong with this image. ===== From somersj@aya.yale.edu: Great rug! ===== From msfl.bf@fasonet.bf: You achieved your goal : the image is very photorealistic, and has a nice, warm atmosphere to it. Thanks for the extensive description of how the image was made. As a POV user, it was both interesting and informative to get a hint about the making of an image with 3DS (although some things were completely uncomprehensive to me :) ===== From r@dial-23.ocis.net>: Almost looks like a photograph. Incredible lighting and texturing, I hope I'm not competing with you next round. :) Notable for textures, lighting ===== From r@ww-td04.proxy.aol.com>: Texures are very nice. Notable for lighting ===== From r@regulus.its.uu.se>: The books looks like they've been scaled in X-direction. Notable for lighting
