===== From roth@ens.ascom.ch: the cans are great! the fence is very realistic, the car is a bit too perfect. ===== From 93johnst@scar.utoronto.ca: Very nicely done. I love the modelling. ===== From jknepley@nyx.net: The car is a tremendous model, I'm very impressed. The ground looks too "wet." Using a marble texture to represent rust is a good idea, but the distribution of the discoloration is too even up the center pole. ===== From djconnel@flash.net: Beautifully modeled!!!! Only one small factor on technical merit : no tire tracks in the mud. However, the mud on the wheels is quite a nice touch.... the driver was clearly quite careful to not splash any on the body, though :). Nevertheless, the scene is very nicely done. The fence and the mud are very nice touches, and the can a nice garnish to the scene. The fence in particular is very well done. The theme isn't terribly original. However, I especially like it that the car is upgraded, as it represents two tiered engineering feats -- the assembly-line efficiency of the model-T mass productiom complimented by the custom attention of the upgrade. The texture looks ever so slightly "plastic" and toy-like, but this is a small point. Overall I like this one a lot. Dan djconnel@flash.net ===== From castlewrks@aol.com: Excellent automobile... this image would do better if the same attention had been taken in it's setting. The fence does not reflect the same attention to detail that has been lavished on the car. Also, in the same vein, the ground has the same problems. ===== From sonya_roberts@geocities.com: VERY nicely done! Not only is the car quite nicely detailed, and eye-catching to boot, but the background rusty fence is also well-modelled and textured. The reflective ground looks like a very wet surface, those two squished cans are almost lost against it. Near perfection, overall. ===== From kaustin@tgn.net: Overall, your image is far too highly reflective. The ground could use something so that the car can't be seen in it, I don't think pools of water are that reflective. The light source is also a bit intense, it strikes me as a spotlight at midnight rather than daytime. I don't notice any doorhandles, but perhaps they weren't included on Model Ts. ===== From daves@wkpowerlink.com: Very well done. Incredible model, nice reflectiveness, and the ground looks like it was just raining. Which kind of leads me to ask, how come the car's not wet? ===== From chipr@niestu.com: Absolutely excellent picture. Color, detail, composition, modeling, all first-rate. I'm not sure if a tricked-out "T" is a "great" engineering achievement, but it's certaily close. ===== From bill@apocalypse.org: The car is amazingly well done, great job. The chain-link fence and shiney "floor" seem out of place though. I'd like to see a few more angles on the car with closeups on the engine and such --- you should do a web-page with various views. ===== From gmccarter@hotmail.com: Wonderful! Close to photorealistic. Nice fence. Nice spokes. Nice lights. Nice exhausts. Nice everything. Smashed cans and fence are good fitting details. Excellent use of slope maps. Camera view is a bit unrealistic -- looks like a telephoto zoom from across the street. It's like an isometric view, almost no foreshortening. Have you experimented with the "angle" keyword in POV? ===== From karl@pemail.net: Ground is a bit too reflective ===== From arcana@sinbad.net: A very nice image. It comes across a little plastic-feeling though. I think a lot of it has to do with the harsh lighting. That may be what is influencing me towards suggesting you knock down the reflectiveness on the ground. The ground is coming off as being too bright and shiny. The model itself is wonderful though. :{) ===== From bobfranke@halcyon.com: Great attention to detail. The crushed cans are a nice touch. The ground seems just a touch too shiny to me. ===== From wozzeck@club-internet.fr: Nice modelling. However Lighting is a bit too strong and this impression is reinforced by the "aluminium paper" ground. ===== From ethelm@bigfoot.com: Excellent work! ===== From jaime@ctav.es: Wow! Your cars are fantastic! ===== From bsieker@techfak.uni-bielefeld.de: Really great model and image! Hardly anything to criticize. Wow! ===== From 101741.541@compuserve.com: It has a highly realistic touch... very well balanced overall ===== From c_et_d@club-internet.fr: I don't know if it's really a great engineering achievement, why not ! = The car is superb, l found the ground too glossy, but the car, great ===== From lpurple@netcom.com: Really nice job of modelling, especially the crushed beer-cans. ===== From r@slip-32-100-72-29.ny.us.ibm.net>: Wonderfull Notable for textures, modelling ===== From r@dial-up27.webbernet.net>: I love the beautiful rusty fence and the slope mapped seats are astounding. The steering wheel cover is a very good touch. While the reflections from the ground enhance the shiny surfaces of the car and improve the windshield immensely, and the distorted reflection of the fence is great, the ground texture looks a bit surreal next to the rest of the image. Perhaps you could get the same benefits with muddy, unreflective ground and carefully placed rippled puddles? ===== From r@bowerbird.cc.uq.edu.au>: Notable for composition, textures, modelling
