===== From djconnel@flash.net: The concept is good, but really the image could use some refinement.... the floor and wall are rather simple, and the moon is too flat. The smoke trail looks good, as does the candle. ===== From castlewrks@aol.com: Two elements of this picture are "important" to this picture, while the other objects "support" the concept... the shuttle shooting for the moon, and the model on the table... composition could aid in highlighting these two objects better, juxtoposition of both high-lighted in the doorway with the other supporting objects may have given a better "air" to the composition. The room is large and stark and tends to loose the arranged objects in the starkness of the space. ===== From sonya_roberts@geocities.com: Good concept, but could have used a better follow-though, i.e., more detailing of the objects in the image, keeping the Mona Lisa in correct proportions, etc. ===== From kaustin@tgn.net: Interesting contrast of past-current views. On recommendations: the moon could use a bit of texture, as it comes across as too flat. The main wall is too flat (leading to color banding) and is barren, which therefore overpowers the image. Adding planks, perhaps, to the table would have reduced the feeling that it is too wide for its texture. The wax drips (?) on the candle are a nice detail. ===== From daves@wkpowerlink.com: Good idea. The table doesn't look too good, but the rest of the image makes use of some very nice textures. I thought the moon had craters and highlights and all that kind of detail? ===== From chipr@niestu.com: Not a bad image, though a bit simple and hard-edged. The textures need work--most things are too smooth. The table texture needs scaling. I wonder if maybe too much ambient lighting gives the image its "flat" appearance. I didn't know what the shuttle was until I read the text file. Good concept. ===== From bill@apocalypse.org: wood on table doesn't look right. candle looks nice though ===== From gmccarter@hotmail.com: Fine concept. Good overall use of many POV-Ray elements. ===== From arcana@sinbad.net: Would have liked to have seen some more detail in the image. There's some odd highlights on the helicopter object that are hard to source out. A lot of your textures need more depth. I would have tried to add some surface texturing to the moon. ===== From ethelm@bigfoot.com: The symbolism seems to have overwhelmed the construction of the image. Good idea, could have been arranged better. ===== From bsieker@techfak.uni-bielefeld.de: The overall composition is very confusing, one does not know where to look. I also think that some more refined texture would have served the picture well. As a rule of thumb spend about as much time for textures and an equal amount for lighting/camera/composition as you spent on modelling the individual objects. ===== From c_et_d@club-internet.fr: nice idea, but the candle light is too bright, the moon is not a flat = white disc. that keels the atmosphere of the scene.=20 ===== From lpurple@netcom.com: The objects against the wall seem a little flat. The skyrocket outside looks great. ===== From r@dial-up27.webbernet.net>: A nice, if anachronistic, image. The Shuttle launch adds to the "story" aspect of the image. The lighting is well planned. I like the candle, but the flame needs a background that will allow it to be more visible. Some of the proportions seem to be off, especially the Mona Lisa. This sort of image profits greatly from detail. For example, the wall should be stuccoed or otherwise textured, the table grain should be bump mapped (and scaled to make the grain look "finer) and the Moon should show some detail. Stars or a wisp of cloud in the sky would help, too. ===== From r@bowerbird.cc.uq.edu.au>: Notable for lighting, modelling, composition
