A couple in a small row boat hope to get the first kiss of the new millenium. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: Credits first. I used the include files Galaxy.inc and Lensflar.inc by Chris Colefax to create the sky. The primary fireworks object is used with kind permission of Gena Obukhov. I also used some Matrix code sent to me by Jerry Anning to properly align the image map for the womans face. Each object of the scene was modelled independantly and then assembled into the final image. I downloaded images of both the Opera House and Harbour Bridge and then imported them into Autocad. The images were then used as templates for drafting the objects. Both models were created using CSG and are lit with spotlights (floodlights) and small street lamps. The street lamps use light attenuation. The far shore is a simple #while loop of boxes using a Granite texture with high ambient settings. The water is a black reflective plane using a Agate normal. The lovers were created using Poser2. The pose is based upon "The Kiss" by the sculptor Rodin. The Poser model was exported to Rhino and then translated to POV code. Parts of the model were further exported from Rhino to Autocad via a DXF file. The mesh was then exploded and recombined into different sections and re-imported into Rhino via a 3DS file and finally translated to POV code. This was done so that different textures could be applied to what was a single mesh object. Finally an image map was applied to the womans face using a Matrix transformation to apply the correct normal to the image map. The sky was created using the Galaxy.inc plugin and the fireworks object. The flare effect of the big firework are made using the Lensflar.inc plugin. They were mapped onto the fireworks object by overlaying a grid, made of cylinders, onto the fireworks object. The zip file contains all source code except the mesh and image map for the people. If anyone wishes to render the entire image I can email them the extra files.
