Interesting, and more original than the lake scene you thought about  If that's

Two main things stick out - the object in the sky appears to be the earth ! and
the logs in the fire are too regular. Just making them slightly different
lengths / widths would make all the difference

One of the drawbacks I've found with 3DS is it's use of imagemaps. This is
quite evident in the image map used for the ground. The shadows and
lighting give it a flat feeling that does not jive with the scene. On the
whole though, it's an admirable first attempt. :{)

I am not sure what to make of the fire, but then if it isn't
the Earth, I don't know how they should look....  Still,
who made the fire?   Where are they?


With some more work, this could be a very effective scene.

Clever concept.  The fire logs are too regular and the fire needs more detail.
