TITLE: Parked for the Night NAME: Justin Janger COUNTRY: us EMAIL: jjanger@mail.cspp.edu WEBPAGE: HTTP //207.214.0.3/JUSTIN/INDEX.HTM TOPIC: Night COPYRIGHT: I SUBMIT TO THE STANDARD RAYTRACING COMPETITION COPYRIGHT. JPGFILE: nbridge.jpg RENDERER USED: Bryce 3D TOOLS USED: none RENDER TIME: 3 days HARDWARE USED: Pentium-200, 72 meg RAM IMAGE DESCRIPTION: The park is closing. The sun sets gently on the horizon and a few stars can be seen poking out through the veil of the sky. The creek bubbles slightly as the quiet and cool water flows slowly by under the watch of the nearby trees. For me parks always seemed to be effected differently by the approach of night. Cities and streets become menacing places while parks only gain more beauty under the strange light that is twilight. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: I designed this scene in daylight originally just because it was easier to see stuff. For some reason, this render took three days to finish. Odd. Everything here was done with Bryce 3D except for the bench, which is a 3DS model. The moon is overhead giving light but you can't see it. That is the reason that the objects have shadows even though the sun is below the horizion. Bryce is good, but it has a few weird quirks. Check out my website to see the daylight version.
