"If it abates afore we reach Freeport, we're dead men." "But Captain, we've only ten leagues to go," whispered the sentry. "Surely no one will spot us this close to shore at this hour of the morn." "That's where you're wrong laddie", thought Guard Captain Erik, huddled with his assault troops on shore, listening to the soft voices drifting across the water. "The night may have sheltered you but now you're mine!" ----- In this picture, I was trying to create the impression of someone crouching behind some rocks on a shoreline, watching a viking ship trying to quietly slip past in the early hours of the morning. Let me know what you think. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: This image was created entirely in Moray 3.0 for windows. I created the scene, while my brother Stephen Pierce and I both worked on designing the ship. The dragon's head on the prow of the ship has glowing blue eyes, but I decided not to emphasize that in this picture, as it would take away from impression of trying to slip through unnoticed. There are no lights used in this scene. The only lighting in the scene comes from a global ambience of 0.5, and the fog itself. The fog is a ground fog at a distance of 80 units, and a color of RGB 0.5. The TGA file used for the heightfield was called plasma2 and was just kicking around on my hard drive. It is 100x100 pixels.
