I think even in outer space are things existing which look natural. I always has been fascinated by caves so decided to model one in POV. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: ... blobs, blobs, blobs ....... The main part in this scene are the large stones actually building the cave. The whole thing is in fact a blob created with a tool written by myself. All things hanging down from the dome consist of blobs too. The floor is modeled with GFORGE. The texture_maps are assigned with the GENESIS toolkit. Everywhere on the floor you see brown grass bushes. The single blades were created with the GRASS program. The stones are meshes produced with FRGEN. The strange thing left is a contruct consisting of blobs. I call this 'The Alien Tree'. In the near right corner you see a crystal block. These are octagonal prisms arranged with some stone meshes. The roots on the floor witch look like an 'X' are blobs too. You might wonder where the light comes from inside the caves. Well, much of it comes from the ceiling. There are different blue sources built of a union with a glass sphere and a light source. To cast some shadows there is a white point light near the floor. The crystal block is lighted by a separate spotlight. All elements in this scene are randomly placed with a complex translation tool. This makes it possible to create complete sets of scenes witch build a whole maze. The basic shape of each scene is controlled by a maze generator. I plan to use this within a game i am currently working on. (The lost Secret of Atlantis)
