===== From spanky@wpi.edu: Pretty cool mosquito, but if there was more background scenery this would have rocked ===== From rotht@televar.com: Ouch! :-) Great interpretation of theme! Why the "Cheer up!" title, though? ===== From d97ta@efd.lth.se: the skin seems a bit plastic. i think it should be more even in color as well. ===== From klynn@minn.net: submitted twice? ===== From buck@cs.byu.edu: Good picture! Some more hairs would add a bit more depth to the image. ===== From djconnel@flash.net: Nicely modelled! And the skin texture is quite interesting. There are a few issues: 1. The hair is too localized. 2. The "sucker" is too small, especially near the entry point -- he'd need to suck for an hour to get anything through that, assuming blood cells could squeeze through.... 3. You really need to make use of the text file to describe your technique -- voters might assume the model was copied from an object library. Even Spanish would be better than nothing, if that is an issue. This omission really hurts the tech score. The source code is amazingly compact! ===== From bill@apocalypse.org: Hey, I did an image just like this! http://archive.irtc.org/ftp/pub/stills/1996-08-31/mosquito.jpg Yours looks better! ===== From fisher2@pobox.upenn.edu: Very nice! I took 1 point off of the art score since the skin texture isn't quite "right". Maybe the use of a crackle texture with a shallow bump depth would have been better. ===== From r@hugo.fen.baynet.de: I had the same problem this round, luckily my double was taken off the competition only hours before the end..
