===== From gregj56590@aol.com: Unrealistic water-sand interface. ===== From d97ta@efd.lth.se: you need to work on the textures. the colors are too garish. the water is too blue. the ground is too yellow (and too flat). the ants are too dark. nice seagulls and the fire does well too, but it's too centered in the image (put it a bit more off to one side) ===== From buck@cs.byu.edu: Nice. I like the grasses and the sky. The wood in the fire looks pretty invulnerable, though...a more varied color-map would work well I think (to make it look like parts are charred, parts are untouched, parts are coals, etc). Also, the water looks too placid, more like a big pond than the ocean. Try bumps or crackle for the normal, and scale them to be parallel to the beach. ===== From jaime@ctav.es: Nice trunks, but the fire is too transparent. ===== From djconnel@flash.net: This is a nice idea, but it really needs more polish to make it a winner. * the plants look too identical * the fire needs more localization * the ants look identical * the birds look identical * the sand texture needs some work -- it's a bit too yellow. It has a lot of potential, though. ===== From gmccarter@hotmail.com: Nearly every color here is much too bright. Suggest you take each pigment and divide it by two. The resulting image will be quite a bit more realistic. Also, the logs in the fire seem to be intersecting each other. Nice big fat juicy ants. Good seagulls.
