===== From mikko.oksalahti@dosetek.varian.com: Nice balance considering there are so many elements in the picture. Crisp color world. ===== From d97ta@efd.lth.se: lovely image, but a sense of deja-vu strikes me hard... i like this one better than the sci-fi one though (this one is less cluttered) ===== From buck@cs.byu.edu: Nice scene. The water is great, and I really like your backdrop. Nice plants, objects, etc. The architecture on the lower-left seems kind of flooded with light, tho. Interesting, tho, how this one so closely mirrors your entry for sci-fi...? ===== From djconnel@flash.net: Very nice!!! This is a really competitive image. However, its only real weakness is the topicality -- it is highly synthetic. The few plants are nicely tucked off the side of the image, but they deserve greater focus. The dish is an amazing piece of work!!! Unfortunately it doesn't contribute to tech on this topic, but it is a wonderful modeling job. And the Klingon text is a nice touch. ===== From bill@apocalypse.org: I do like this better than the original. Subtler colors, the lense-flare thingy, less clutter in the image. very nice. ===== From 101741.541@compuserve.com: Reminds me of something ;( How did you dare ? You other image is by far more interesting. ===== From fisher2@pobox.upenn.edu: Since this was a resubmission from a previous round with some adjustments I scored it accordingly. Since you asked, I took a look at this image and the previous version and compared the two. The colors used in this image are much nicer. Mostly shades of blue & white used throughout which blend the elements of the picture together a lot more. The anti-aliasing is a lot better too. Although, I don't understand why you removed the pillars from the scene. I liked them in the original. ===== From arcana@sinbad.net: The sphere and lens flare in the upper left portion of the image don't seem to have a rhyme or reason with the overall feel of the rest of the image. I would have thought to have seen some structure or plant life or something reflected in the chalice, showing what was behind the camera. The color pattern of the central disks is making it difficult to get a good impression of depth. Overall, a very pleasing image. ===== From gmccarter@hotmail.com: Don't understand the title: in some ways it looks more "tropical" than "frozen". Good use of fog to blend the horizon. Subtle color scheme. Use of Klingon is interesting visually, but begs the question: what's it mean? This scene is a careful, tasteful collection of fine objects, but it still doesn't gel for me. Am I missing a point? Or is the Klingon the key to understanding this scene? I notice you leave out the "Image Description" from the text file... By the way, this is quite a bit better than the original scene, if only because the ridiculous ship was deleted. ===== From no13@ozemail.com.au: This revision of your image is superior to that which placed third in the Sci Fi round. But big deductions for technical merit.
