===== From spanky@wpi.edu: I love those trees ===== From mikko.oksalahti@dosetek.varian.com: Well balanced image that opens gradually to the viewer. ===== From gregj56590@aol.com: Nice bug, excellent plant textures, nice contrast in overall image. Nothing has that cheesy "ray-traced" look. ===== From d97ta@efd.lth.se: this is one of the best images so far... lovely textures the bird looks very real, and the dragonfly is even better. on the other hand, the tree roots look a bit flat. what i want now is a thorough description of how you made this! ===== From marc_w@ncx.com: definately a wonderful image! ===== From buck@cs.byu.edu: Very nice. The plants are great, and the bird and dragonfly add some nice "life" to the image. The fog is a great touch, too. The trees look too much like the same tree used multiple times, however. ===== From jaime@ctav.es: It's a pain the lack of info in the txt, but the scene it's very nice. The arrangement and composition are beatiful. Liked specially the mangles. ===== From beliaev@utu.fi: Very nice image indeed. It's a pity a description of how the image was done is missing. I would have given you much higher marks on "technical merit" if I only new how you made it. ===== From djconnel@flash.net: I am quite disappointed you have given no description of how this scene was done. Is it an image map? Are the objects your models? What is original? It is an excellent image and deserves to contend for a top placing, but you cheat yourself by not providing any text. Note: one improvement would be to address the kinks in the plants. Also -- how does that flimsy plant support that fat bird :) ? ===== From bill@apocalypse.org: That dragonfly is lovely, would like a clsoer shot of it ===== From 101741.541@compuserve.com: I feel very immersed into that picture. Little bright things floating on the water shows high attention to detail. ===== From arcana@sinbad.net: I would have liked to have seen more detail in the bark on the trees, and a more rounded bending of the grass leaves. Overall though, a very nice image. ===== From gmccarter@hotmail.com: Several of the leaf segments are too angular, suggesting they are low-resolution triangle meshes. But the coloring, stripes, and highlights on the leaves are very realistic. Wish I knew how you made some of this scene. Small spots on the water surface are a good effect, but the water has no transparency. Tree roots are too similar to each other. Could such a thin blade support the weight of a bird? ===== From r@hugo.fen.baynet.de: The grass has a really nice texture applied, though having excessive corners (OK, you need to save mem for such numerous things like leaves, maybe only a variable quality dependant to the distance to the cam would be an interesting project). And, hey, the trees look better than three vorlorn or shadow ships from Bab5 taken together ;)
