===== From spanky@wpi.edu: Do you write novels? ===== From mikko.oksalahti@dosetek.varian.com: Moody colors. ===== From gregj56590@aol.com: Nice bird. Nice rocks. ===== From d97ta@efd.lth.se: typical fantasy art feeling to the image, which is great! lovely modeling on the owl, but the mouse looks like it's already been eaten, digested and thrown up again (if you get my meaning) at first sight. too much contrast, too many speckles and bits sticking out... the skyline has an abrupt ending... you should have used a fog, sphere or endless plane rather than a simple box for the sky. ===== From buck@cs.byu.edu: The moon is a nice touch. The owl is very well done--nice texture. As for the background, all I can say is "BRRRR!" ===== From djconnel@flash.net: This image has a lot of nice features. It has a real 2-d feel, which some people like. However, the texture on the two primary objects needs a little work -- it is too "tiled". The other aspects of the scene are all quite effective. This is a nice piece of work with Ray Dream, which tends to produce plastic-looking scenes.... I used to use it a lot. ===== From bill@apocalypse.org: the owl's texture is sublime. Nice rocky background too. The chipmonk (is that what it is) is not recognizable for me though. ===== From ethelm@bigfoot.com: The feathers and fur textures done by scanning was very clever and made the image look much more realistic. ===== From 101741.541@compuserve.com: Great composition overall. The textures on the animals, though not so-realistic, are pretty good looking. Fine artistery here. ===== From gmccarter@hotmail.com: Intricate textures, but the mouse seems to have a very similar texture to the branch, making them hard to distinguish. Very good owl. Good concept. You might try focusing the camera more tightly on the main characters, to de-emphasize the branch and mountains, which are not essential to the scene. As it is, the scene is "branch which happens to have a mouse and owl on it". But what you wanted, of course, is "mouse and owl who happen to be sitting on a branch". See the difference?
