===== From spanky@wpi.edu: HAHAH! This is awesome! It looks like our alien menace develops on the outer crust of a large cheeto in a galaxy not too far from our kitchen. ===== From mikko.oksalahti@dosetek.varian.com: Makes you think about the difference between animals, plants and synthetic creatures. ===== From jamez@xover.ml.org: shouldn't contain artificial stuff! ===== From d97ta@efd.lth.se: a single plant in a desert... could use some more detail. what's behind the mountains? the end of the world? love the modeling, especially the plant. The black guy feels a bit rigid, make him look at what s/he is doing or something to make him more alive. ===== From ewgr@abaddon.globalnet.co.uk: Mentally deranged? Who is?? I thought it was an excellent interpretation of theme. ===== From karl@pemail.net: Like the tree, don't like the alien ===== From buck@cs.byu.edu: Interesting idea. The textures on the plant and the ground are great. It all looks pretty surreal, though. ===== From jaime@ctav.es: Your right, a bit more work could make it really amazing. Very interesting idea! ===== From beliaev@utu.fi: "it's not my fault if you are mentally deranged": how about that! Excuse me, but it's your job either to make a self-explanatory image, or to give a description of how your image is related to the topic. Thus, if someone is not "able to see the relation of this picture to the topic" it's your fault. ===== From djconnel@flash.net: This makes a nice use of texture, and the fetal pod is quite an interesting object. The image is quite striking... the "plant" looks humanoid, but it's all done in the pose... very interesting. Still, I must be a narrow-minded spirit.... ===== From ethelm@bigfoot.com: This is a very alien nature but an excellent SF illustration. ===== From arcana@sinbad.net: Tsk.. prejudging the judges. Rather than deciding some won't give you the benefit of the doubt, why not give them as you'd like expect them to take the time to give you the benefit of the doubt. Anyhow, on to the image.. I find myself wishing there were more detail in the textures of the plant and creature. Tiny details that are hard to do, but should be visible when viewing the subjects this close. It's difficult to judge things like lighting conditions when dealing with an alien landscape. However, the light seems a bit yellowish in contrast with the pinking of the atmosphere. Overall though, a nice image. :{) ===== From gmccarter@hotmail.com: Bizarre and totally alien. Does this mean "nature" to you?
