A school of fish pass by a sleeping octopus. Suddenly it awakens and this makes the fishes almost as surprised as the octopus. Everything is beeing monitored through a window by a standbyer of unknown origin. *phew* DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: The octopus is the first object I created. The body is one massive blob, which I formed by lots of sin/cos curves with random twitches. The suction cups beneath the arms are toruses and the positions which they are at is saved throughout the generation of the arms. That is why I don't have more cups (64), because I didn't have some kind of array to save them in and therefore had to make 64 named vectors. The eyes are plain spheres. The fishes are spheres with normal and pigment modifiers. The pattern is the same for all the fishes, but that I guess fish patterns are not that much different in real life anyway. The positions and angles are random. The large plants are boxes, randomly rotated and placed in sinus curves. The grass is smooth_triangles, two per straw, with random angles and positions. The window is CSG's of cylinders. The bolts are spheres. To get the watery dull effect, I used atmosphere with a blue touch. The alien reflection is an image behind the camera. The glass window is normal modified to make the ocean look more like water, this is why the arms may look a bit unevenly thinning. However the overall effect it has on the scene is too good to make me drop it. -.,___,.-~^__`^~-.,___,.-~^__`^~-.,___,.-~^__`^~-.,___,.-~^__`^~-.,___,.-
